Immerse yourself in history, art and take in stunning views of Rome on this action-packed climbing tour of St. Peter’s Basilica.
The experience starts in St. Peter’s Square, the heart of Vatican City, where your expert guide sets the stage for the wonders that await. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Vatican Gardens, the Tiber River, pretty Gianicolo Hill, and St. Peter’s Square below. As you climb, observe the city spread out beneath you, each glimpse a different view.
While descending, you’ll enter the main St. Peter’s Basilica. Hear stories you’re your guide about the architecture and symbols, including the intricate decorations on the nave, Michelangelo’s Pietà, the bronze baldachin by Renaissance architect Gian Lorenzo that marks where St. Peter is buried.
