Our exciting Porto Hop-On Hop-Off Tour lets you explore Portugal’s second city at your own pace in a comfortable open-top bus. Your hop-on hop-off bus ticket is valid on two interconnected routes and the validity extends over 2 days, giving you lots of time to see the main attractions. You can jump on and off at will to go shopping or sightseeing or stay on board and listen to an informative audio commentary (provided in eight languages).

Dramatically situated at the mouth of the Rio Douro, Porto is one of the oldest of Europe’s cities and registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Through the years, its labyrinthine cobbled streets, glorious architecture and rich history have drawn visitors from all over the world.

The Porto Hop-On Hop-Off Tour makes it easy to enjoy the best this captivating city has to offer. The two routes, the Red Line and the Blue Line, both start at the same point - Infante D. Henrique. The Red Line is the longer route and takes 2 hours to complete a full loop; the shorter Blue Line takes 1 hour 40 minutes to complete a loop.

The stops on the two routes are listed below.

Red Line
Stop 1 - Infante D Henrique: The stop for Sé Cathedral, one of Portugal’s oldest churches, famous for its dazzling chapterhouse, stunning views, fabulous silver altarpiece and glorious cloisters decorated with blue and white tiles (azulejos).

Stop 2 - Avenida dos Aliados: Stop here for the city center and the enticing covered market, Mercado do Bolhão, with stalls are laden with every conceivable type of produce.

Stop 3 – Casa da Música: Porto’s modern concert hall.

Stop 4 - Castelo do Queijo: ‘Cheese Castle’ in English! This 17th century garrison is so called because it is built on a rock that looks like a piece of cheese.

Stop 5 - Infante - Palacio da Bolsa :. The Palacio da Bolsa is a magnificent 19th century building with a neoclassical façade. You can visit on weekdays (guide compulsory). Highlights are the magnificent Arab Room and the Golden Room, famous for its gilded stucco.

Stop 6 – Largo Miguel Bombarda: The stop for the river-front cellars of the celebrated port wine producer Sandeman. Guided tours and tastings are available.

Blue Line
Stop 1 - Infante D Henrique :. See Stop 1 Red Line

Stop 2 - Avenida dos Aliados : See Stop 2 Red Line

Stop 3 - Torre dos Clérigos : Visit the Baroque Torre dos Clérigos (bell-tower), completed in 1763 and soaring 75m above the streets below. Climb the 225 stairs to enjoy stunning panoramas. Also visit the magnificent Clérigos church.

Stop 4 – Praça do Infante : A square with a monument to Henry the Navigator

Stop 5 - Caves Croft : Stop here to visit the House of Croft, one of Porto’s most famous wine producers.

Stop 6 - El Corte Inglés: The stop for shopaholics! El Corte Inglés is a giant department store, filled with internationally renowned brands. Accessories, cosmetics, books, clothes, shoes and household goods are just some of the items on offer across the 10 different floors.

You can leave the tour at whichever stop you wish.

Red Line: 01 Jul- 30 Sep: 9:00am to 6:30pm
01 Oct – 30 Jun:
9:15am to 5:15pm
Blue Line: 01 Jul- 30 Sep: 9:15am to 6:45pm
01 Oct – 30 Jun: 9.15am to 5.15pm
Duration: Your ticket is valid for 2 days from the time you first board the bus.
Total Loop Red Line: 2 hours
Total Loop Blue Line: 1 hour 40minutes

Meeting point

You may board the bus at any stop. The voucher can be exchanged at any of the stops directly with the driver
Both the Red and Blue Lines start at Infante D. Henrique

Ending point

You may leave the bus at any stop

Please note

Your booking voucher can be exchanged for your Hop-On-Hop-Off ticket at any one of stops. Simply choose the stop which you wish to start from and present your voucher to the driver who will exchange it for a ticket that will be valid for 2 days from that time.

Voucher information: You must print and surrender a paper version of your booking voucher for this activity (showing your voucher on a smartphone is not accepted). No refund can be given for customers without a printed copy of their voucher.

Your voucher will be valid for 3 months from the date chosen at the time of booking.

The buses have ramps and are therefore fully wheelchair accessible.
The tour bus has a low floor with extendable ramps and wheelchair space. Passengers do not need to walk up steps to board the bus. Wheelchairs can also be can be collapsed down and stored on the bus. Mobility scooter access also provided. Only one wheelchair per bus.

On 24th December tours finish at 3:00pm. Passengers can enjoy Christmas music while listening to the audio commentary.
