Itinerary

For your Milford & Fiordland Private Helicopter Tour you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the departure lounge at Queenstown airport.

After boarding the helicopter you will be flown over South Island’s Fiordland, a series of steep, ocean-flooded valleys (fiords) and deep lakes surrounded by the steep sides of the snow-capped Southern Alps. One of the most famous fiords is Milford Sound. Nearly 870 metres in depth, this is a famous natural wonder where dramatic mountains rise directly from the sea. According to Maori legend, the landscape was created by a godly figure who carved the fiords with a magical adze.

With 182 days of rain every year, Milford Sound is one of the wettest places in New Zealand. But the rain simply serves to enhance the Sound’s natural beauty by creating dozens of temporary waterfalls that cascade down the steep cliffs.

Your helicopter ride over the Fiordland National Park will give you awesome views of this monumental terrain. On this trip you will fly over the fiord and land twice – once on a remote west coast beach and once on the Park Pass glacier
