Itinerary

For your thrilling Hanmer Springs Day Tour from Christchurch you will be picked up from your Christchurch accommodation in the morning at a time pre-arranged with the local isango partner. Your friendly driver/guide will provide an informative commentary as you travel. During the day you will be offered a choice of activities in addition to the main tour. You can choose one of the following:

• Jet boat ride in Waiu Gorge
• Therapeutic massage

Leaving Christchurch, you will travel by road through the pastoral scenery of North Canterbury. The tour stops at a local sheep station where you can enjoy a short walk around the farm and watch a sheep shearing demonstration.

Continue to Thrillseekers Canyon, Hanmer Springs. If you have chosen the jet boat ride option you will have the chance to enjoy your selected activity in the Waiu Gorge.

The tour continues to the award-winning Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa, set in a breathtaking natural landscape, surrounded by forests and mountains. You will enjoy lunch at the Garden House Cafe and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the facilities.

The Thermal Pools & Spa has 12 open-air thermal pools, three sulphur pools and a sauna/steam room. There is also a popular family activity area – complete with water slides.

If you did not participate in the jet boating or rafting activities, a therapeutic massage with steam or sauna can be arranged for your pleasure at the Hanmer Springs Resort.

On the return journey, a stop will be made at a North Canterbury Winery for wine tasting.

At the end of the day, you will be dropped back at your accommodation in Christchurch.
