To start your experience, you'll pick up your pre-ordered tickets from the Lindbergh Office, located at Damrak 26, before proceeding to the Body Worlds exhibit.
Body Worlds: The Happiness Project is a permanent display of the workings of the human body, created by Dr. Gunther von Hagens. Once a travelling tour, and now located in the centre of Amsterdam at Damrak 66, the exhibit itself has already had over 40 million visitors worldwide.
Body Worlds explores the affect of happiness on health, featuring over 200 anatomical specimens of real human bodies. The exhibit is family-friendly and interactive, looking at the complexity, resilience, and vulnerability of the human body.
The exhibit spans over seven floors, with each floor dedicated to a different part of the body or bodily process. Each body is in a different pose or participating in a different activity, from dancing or relaxing, to even playing the saxophone!
The exhibit has been called both educational and artistic in its portrayal of the human body, offering a new perspective and a new way to learn about how our daily activities affect us. The average visit to the exhibit lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, but the visit can be as long or as short as you want!
