Overview

On the northeast coast of Langkawi is a large mangrove forest. Set among the sheer cliffs, the spectacular green forest make for a fascinating adventure as you catch sight of an abundance of wildlife.

Take a cruise into the impressive wetlands and the mangrove forest of Langkawi Island. The tour offers you a unique opportunity to observe the rich and varied flora and fauna of the island from a unique perspective - sitting in a boat on a river!

Itinerary

This tour will take you to a world vastly different from the beaches and the sea. You will be picked-up from your hotel in a coach for your Mangrove Forest Cruise tour.

Starting from the Tanjung Rhu fishing village, the boat journey will take you through limestone caves and hidden canyon where monkeys, king fishers, monitor lizards and mud crabs congregate along the river banks.

You also get to see spectacular time-sculptured limestone cliffs, birds, bats, fishes and other wildlife. The limestone, weathered and eroded by air and water, produce the wonderful rock formations, secluded lagoons and caves occupied by stalagmites and stalactites. Spanning an area of approximately 100 square kilometers, this area has been gazetted as Kilim Geoforest Park, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Learn about the park’s history, geology and wildlife from your knowledgeable guide and take in the natural beauty of the area, which is also home to the highest density of eagles. Explore an ancient cave filled with bats, stalagmites and stalactites and pause to have your lunch at a floating fish farm restaurant.

After an enthralling excursion you will be taken back to your hotel.
