Pompeii is one of Italy’s most precious archeological sites. It is incredibly well preserved. The ancient city of Pompeii was suddenly wiped off the map in 79 A.D. ; buried under 6 meters of volcanic ash. Although most of the 20,000 inhabitants didn’t survive, much of their city did. This UNESCO World Heritage site has been carefully excavated to reveal its former glory.
Imagine what life would have been like for the ancient Romans in Pompeii. The city is remarkably well preserved. There are even colored frescos depicting the people who once lived there. When the city was buried under the ash, it was basically frozen in time. Paved, streets, murals, and well preserved structures all give a glimpse back into an era long gone.
You will be picked up from your hotel or cruise ship in Naples in a private air-conditioned car for your Pompeii Tour.
The drive to Pompeii is approximately 30 minutes. Your guided tour of Pompeii is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

On this half day tour, you’ll stroll down the streets grooved deeply from the chariot wheels, have a look at the amazing mosaics and murals and walk around the public baths. At the time of Pompeii’s height, the rest of Europe was still living in mud-huts and the Romans were enjoying central heating and saunas.
