There is no hotel pick-up for your Milan Segway Tour. You should make your way to Piazza Sempione. The meeting point for your Milan Segway Tour is on the right-hand side behind the Peace Arch.
Your Segway tour starts with a 30 minutes orientation session (in English). Once you feel comfortable riding the Segway, you will start your journey to the historic center of town, accompanied by your English-speaking Segway Staff Escort.
As you drive past all the important areas of Milan, you can enjoy listening to the audio commentary, in English, through the headphones. And there will be plenty of opportunities to take photographs of all the wonderful places you see.
No more than six people can take this the tour at any one time. This means you will have a much more personal experience of the city of Milan than you would on a large tour.
Your drive past route will include the following highlights:
• Piazza Sempione: home to one of Milan’s most famous monuments – the neo-classical Arch of Peace.
• Parco Sempione (Sempione park): this huge green area (47 hectares) boasts winding paths, a lake, a fountain, fine sculptures and a romantic bridge.
• Castello Sforzesco: (Sforza Castle): damaged in World War II, the castle was later repaired and turned into a museum. It now houses several of Milan’s important museum and art collections.
• Via Dante: This charming pedestrian mall between Castello Sforzesco and Piazza Cordusio is an excellent place for lunch or a cappuccino (not included).
• Piazza dei Mercanti: this Square with its attractive arcades dates from the 13th century, when it was an important center of city life.
• Piazza Duomo: is dominated by the stupendous Gothic Duomo (cathedral) having a golden Madonna at its peak, over 140 soaring spires, and 2000 statues.
• Vittorio Emanuele Gallery: an arcade of shops in the heart of Milan. It is famous for its mosaic floor. The roof is louvered to let in natural light.
• Corso Vittorio Emanuele II: a wide street leading off Piazza Duomo.
• The porticos are lined with clothing and accessory boutiques and it’s where the young and fashionable crowd hangs out. A great place for shopping and ‘people-watching’.
At the end of your exciting Segway tour you will be dropped off at the starting point in Piazza Sempione (on the right-hand side behind the Peace Arch).
