A must for art lovers! This tour is entirely dedicated to the visit of the Museo del Novecento (Museum of Twentieth Century), in the magnificent building of Arengario that houses some of the most important masterpieces of the 20th century. You can see works by Modigliani, De Chirico, Pellizza Da Volpedo, Boccioni, Balla, Carrà, Fontana, Morandi, Sironi as well as international painters such as Picasso, Kandinskij, Braque, Mondrian, Klee and Matisse.

A professional guide will walk you through the fundamental steps of 20th century art, a period rich of changes and innovations. The museum hosts about 400 works from different artistic movements from futurism to metaphysics.


10:30am: Meet your guide at the entrance of the Museo del Novecento at Palazzo dell'Arengario, Via Marconi 1.

At the entrance of the museum, visitors are welcomed by the mesmerising canvas "Quarto Stato" by Pellizza da Volpedo depicting workers on strike. There are 400 works on display throughout the museum comprising paintings, sculptures and installations. The exhibitions are arranged chronologically, allowing you to form a coherent idea of the progress of different art movements.

Particular emphasis has been given to local artists who have had a special significance to the city of Milan, such as Boccioni, Morandi, de Chirico, Fontana and Arturo Martini.

Marvel at the splendid artwork as your guide talks you through the different styles and masters of the 20th century.

12:30pm: The tour ends at the museum at Palazzo dell'Arengario and you are free to spend the rest of the day exploring Milan as you please.
