At the entrance of the museum, visitors are welcomed by the mesmerising canvas "Quarto Stato" by Pellizza da Volpedo depicting workers on strike. There are 400 works on display throughout the museum comprising paintings, sculptures and installations. The exhibitions are arranged chronologically, allowing you to form a coherent idea of the progress of different art movements.
Particular emphasis has been given to local artists who have had a special significance to the city of Milan, such as Boccioni, Morandi, de Chirico, Fontana and Arturo Martini.
