A visit to the Lake District is an unmissable experience whilst in Milan. You will see the fashionable town of Stresa where you can browse the local shops for souvenirs and afterwards enjoy the stunning scenery of the area gliding along Lake Maggiore on a two-hour panoramic cruise.

The eleven islands of Lake Maggiore are renowned for their beauty and the area makes for an ideal day trip destination. Lake Maggiore is surrounded by the majestic Alps and houses some of Italy’s most beautiful gardens where lemon and olive trees grow alongside camellias, azaleas and magnolias. During your cruise you will also visit the Borromean islands: Isola Marde, Isola dei Pescatori and Isola Bella.

09:00am: The tour departs from Foro Bonaparte 76, 20121 (MM1 Cairoli), Milano. It's 100 meters away from Cairoli train station.

10:30am: You will arrive at the quaint town of Stresa. Here you will have free time to explore this fascinating little town, try some local cuisine or indulge in some shopping before taking a stunning lake cruise.

Take a boat trip across the lake sailing around Isola Madre before stopping at the tiny Isola dei Pescatori to explore the island and enjoy some free time for lunch. Sail to Isola Bella to visit the Baroque Borromean Palace and gardens. On board you will enjoy the view of exquisite lakeside villas and lush gardens surrounded by crystal clear waters set amidst the beauty of the snow-capped Alps.

4:00pm: Return to Stresa and depart by bus for Milan, stopping at the huge statue of San Carlo Borromeo in Arona. This massive bronze statue, erected between 1614 and 1698, was built on a hill overlooking the lake to celebrate the former archbishop of Milan.

6:30pm: You will arrive back at the starting point at Foro Bonaparte.
