Your English-speaking guide will pick you up from your cruise ship at 0800h (8:00am) for this private shore excursion. You will travel in an air-conditioned vehicle as you visit some the towns of the Cinque Terre.
Arriving at Riomaggiore, the first of the Cinque Terre, the tour begins with an easy walk along the famous “Lovers Walk” trail, which affords magnificent views of the coastline.
At Manarola, tour the most photogenic of the five villages. Explore a myriad of narrow alleys and pretty pastel squares. Perhaps take time-out from your tour of the Cinque Terre to taste some local wines at a cosy wine-bar.
Continue by boat to Vernazza, the town faces onto the water and the large open harbour, castle and church conjures up all the magic of the Cinque Terre. Your guide will recommend a very good restaurant for an open-air lunch overlooking the water. Alternatively you can enjoy a stroll through the back-streets of the town or above the harbour to enjoy splendid views along the coast.
The last of the villages you will visit is Corniglia. This is the only one of the Cinque Terre towns not located directly on the coast. From the town’s belvedere, you can enjoy some of the best views of the Cinque Terre. The terraced hills are covered with vineyards that remind visitors of Corniglia's famous wine that has been produced here since ancient times.
On your way back to Livorno you will make a stop in Pisa to visit the Square of Miracles. Your guide will escort you around the Duomo, the Baptistry and of course the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Return to Livorno in the late afternoon. You will be dropped off at your cruise ship around 1800h (6:00pm).
