You will be picked up in an air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel in Florence and travel with your English-speaking driver through the picturesque Tuscan landscape for your Treasures of Tuscany – Small Group Tour.
The vehicle is allowed to drive in the center of all cities so, unlike a bus tour, you do have not to walk great distances.
Your first 1 hour stop San Miniato, a jewel of a city strategically situated on three small hills and world famous for its delicious, high quality white truffle. San Miniato's 14th century Church of San Domenico is rich with beautiful frescoes and and terracotta work. The Cathedral or Duomo features a massive bell-tower with an unusual asymmetrical clock.
The tour continues with a 1.5 hour stop in the university city of Pisa, famous for its medieval architecture, in particular the spectacular Leaning Tower. Piazza dei Miracoli, where the Tower stands, is one of the world's main centers for medieval art, and contains Pisa's Romanesque Cathedral, Baptistry and Camposanto. Another fine square, Piazza dei Cavalieri, is bounded by the historic Scuola Normale, one of the most famous universities in the world.
The last stop is for 3 hours in the elegant town of Lucca, where you can enjoy a light lunch (drinks not included) in an authentic trattoria. Thus refreshed, you can walk the famous sixteenth century walls and explore the enchanting center. Here you will find the splendid oval Piazza Anfiteatro, originally a Roman Ampitheater, the Duomo di San Martino and the Torre Giunigi, which has stunning views from the top.
On returning to Florence at the end of your tour, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
