Overview

Explore the glorious countryside and medieval towns of Tuscany in a friendly atmosphere. Leaving the beaten track, you and your companions will have the chance to see hidden places few others reach. The vehicle is allowed to drive in the centre of all cities so, unlike a bus tour, you do have not to walk great distances.

Your first stop will be San Miniato, a jewel of a city strategically situated on three small hills and famous for its delicious white truffle. San Miniato's 14th century Church of San Domenico is rich with beautiful frescoes and terracotta work. The Cathedral or Duomo features a massive bell-tower with an unusual asymmetrical clock.

The tour continues to the university city of Pisa, famous for its medieval architecture, in particular the spectacular Leaning Tower. Piazza dei Miracoli, where the Tower stands, is one of the world's main centres for medieval art and contains Pisa's Romanesque Cathedral, Baptistry and Camposanto. Another fine square, Piazza Dei Cavalieri, is bounded by the historic Scuola Normale, one of the most famous universities in the world.

The last stop is the elegant town of Lucca, where you can enjoy a light lunch (drinks not included) in an authentic trattoria. Thus refreshed, you can walk the famous 16th-century walls and explore the enchanting centre. Here you will find the splendid oval Piazza Anfiteatro, originally a Roman Amphitheatre, the Duomo di San Martino and the Torre Giunigi, which has stunning views from the top.
