0800h (08:00am): After breakfast, depart from your hotel for a sightseeing tour of Yogyakarta (Jogja).
• Visit the Borobudur Buddhist Temple situated in eastern Java on the Kedu Plain. It is one of the largest temples in the world perched majestically on a hilltop overlooking lush green felids and distant hills. The smaller Buddhist temples of Mendut and Pawon are visited en route.
• Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
At around 1400h (02:00pm), return back to your hotel and you are at leisure for the rest of the day.
0800h (08:00am): After breakfast at the hotel, set out on a city tour and visit the following places:
•Keraton: It is the magnificent palace of the Sultan. The palace was founded by Prince Mangkubumi in 1755. Javanese classic dancing rehearsal, royal wedding ceremonies, puppet show, and other Javanese cultural performances are often held here.
• Wander through the Ngasem bird market and the Water Castle. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
• Prambanan Temple: It is a beautiful 9th century Hindu temple built by the Sanjaya Dynasty. It is also known as Roro Jonggrang, or the Slender Virgin Temple, and has an open theatre where the popular Ramayana ballet is performed annually from May to October during the full moon. Visit the Archeological Museum in the premises to learn about the history of Prambanan and the surrounding temples. You will also visit the nearby Kalasan, Sewu, and Plaosan Temples.
At around 1500h (03:00pm), return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
At around 1900h (07:00pm), enjoy dinner at Gazebo Garden Restaurant and watch the Ramayana ballet staged in the Purawisata open-air theatre.
Return back to your hotel and spend the night.
After breakfast, you are at leisure until appropriate time for departure to the Yogyakarta (Jogja) airport for your onward flight.
