You will be picked up from your hotel and travel in a coach/mini bus to Tour of Gödöllo Palace.
We will drive to Gödöllo (30 km from Budapest) and visit the impressive former summer residence of Queen Elisabeth of the Habsburg Dynasty, honoured and commonly known as "SISSY"- and walk through the interior of the second largest baroque palace in the world (magnificent suites, ballrooms and a chapel, the royal gardens and bower).
The main building had been built in the 1740s and later it has been expanded (two more wings, riding hall, theatre) in some stages by the famous Hungarian aristocratic family the Grassalkovich.
From 1867 it has worked as a royal summer residence of Franz Joseph I and his wife Queen Elizabeth of the Habsburg dynasty.
After the destruction of the World War II and the decades of the "socialism" the buildings has been beautifully recostructed by their original condition.
Guests will be invited for a fine coffee or a soft drink in the Palace Bar.
The tour ends at the Erzsébet Square.
