The beautiful attractions of Pest are best discovered by foot. The first stop will be at St Stephen's Basilica. Marvel at the intricate architecture, grand altars and cavernous domes that have made it a favourite among tourists.
Then, enjoy a tour of the State Opera House, constructed in 1884. Stroll along Broadway, one of the pleasant entertainment districts of the city and you may also have a drink to refresh yourself.
For this walking tour, you will be picked up from your hotel.
You will visit:
• Saint-Stephen’s Basilica: Named in honour of Stephen, the first King of Hungary, whose mummified fist is housed in the reliquary. The architectural style is Neoclassical and the interior is laid out in a Greek cross.
• The Opera House: Designed and built in Renaissance style, it is a richly-decorated building and is considered one of the best opera houses in the world. (Please note: The Opera House reserves the right to stop visitors during special events).
Continuing on your walking tour, you will reach Budapest’s Broadway, the entertainment district of the city with streets lined with theatres and street performers. You will have the opportunity to stop for a drink in this bustling area. (Not included in tour price).
At the end of the tour you will travel by underground to Erzsebet Square.
