It is here where Apollo and Artemis are said to have had their birth, and early Greeks constructed a city with political clout and commercial prowess.
Enjoy a guided tour of these hallowed grounds, where disembodied ruins testify to a lost glory. See the foundation that once supported the Temple of Apollo and feel the weight of ages in the sanctuary of Artemis.
Walk through the crumbling walls of the ancient city, where trade flourished and political ideas were exchanged, and visit a local museum to see artifacts that span thousands of years of Greek and Roman history.
The tour starts from Delos Pier in Mykonos, where you will meet your English-speaking guide for this Ancient Delos tour.
Board a boat and set out towards Delos on the waters of the Aegean, whose fateful swells have inspired many a Grecian legend.
Colonnades stretch out in the distance as you approach this incredible island, birthplace of Apollo and Artemis.
Once a thriving port, a political center, and a holy sanctuary of the gods, Delos is now uninhabited, save for the powerful ruins that allude to a once magnificent city.
Walk among the stacked stones that formed the Temple of Apollo, where the Delians honored their god of daylight, and through the ruins of the Sanctuary of Artemis, where men appealed to the daughter of Zeus for luck in the hunt.
Walk along the walls and columns that composed the ancient city and see what remains of the theatre where playwrights staged their epics before rapt audiences.
Stroll through the Avenue of Lions, dedicated to Apollo shortly before 600 BC, where a row of five snarling marble guardians still keep watch over the sacred grounds.
Tour the Museum of Delos, which exhibits ancient, classical, Hellenistic and Roman sculptures, as well as storage vessels and home appliances from those periods.
