Wander around Mont Sainte Odile and visit the convent with its panoramic view of the plain of Alsace. Descend to Obernai for a stroll around the town renowned for its fabulous architectural heritage. Take in the regal bearing of the famed Castle of Haut Koenigsbourg. Journey through the Wine Route to Riquewihr, the “Pearl of the Vineyard”. Round off your trip with wine tasting at the prestigious Dopff and Irion cellars.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and taken for a sightseeing tour of the major attractions around Strasbourg. A qualified English-speaking driver/guide will accompany you on this tour.

Drive through Rosheim, Boersch and Ottrott, picturesque villages along the Alsace Wine Route.

Continue through the forest of the Vosges Mountain to Mont Sainte-Odile and visit the convent of the Patron Saint of Alsace. The convent offers a panoramic view of the plains of Alsace.

Descend to Obernai, one of the most popular destinations of north Alsace after Strasbourg. Stroll around the town renowned for its splendid architectural heritage. See the City Hall and its stone balcony covered with rich carvings.

You will have your own free time in Obernai between 1200h (12 noon) and 1400h (02:00pm) during which time your guide will make recommendations for a good restaurant for lunch (payable direct).

After lunch continue to visit the famed Castle of Haut Koenigsbourg, one of the most widely visited National Monuments of France. This famous mediaeval fortress dating back to the 12th century looks down across the Alsatian plains. From the top of its towers, the castle offers an unforgettable view across the Vosges, the Rhine, the Black Forest and even across the Alps.

Journey through the Wine Route to Riquewhir, the ‘Pearl of the vineyard’, listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France. Located in the heart of the Alsatian vineyards, at the foot of Vosges, Riquewihr is characterized by a great diversity of landscapes.

End the trip with a wine tasting offered by the renowned winegrower Doppf and Irion and tour at the cellars of the Château.

At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at your hotel in Strasbourg.
