Whether it’s wine tasting in the cellars of Chablis or a tour of the architectural gems of Vézelay, Burgundy has a lot to offer travellers.

Vézelay is a tiny village in Burgundy surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is a favourite with tourists because of its picturesque setting and the famous basilica of Saint Mary Madeleine.

Wine tasting in the cellars of Chablis is a must-do experience in Burgundy. The dry, light, white wine gets its name from the sleepy town of Chablis, where bottle upon bottle of ageing wine lies in underground cellars.

The land of fine food and wine, Burgundy is a great place to enjoy the good life and appreciate the beauty of France.

Itinerary

You will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach. Departing Paris at 0745h (07:45am) you will head towards Burgundy.

Follow the Serein river and travel to Chablis, a small town which produces dry, light white wine. Chablis is the capital of the Basse Bourgogne vineyards and the wine gets its unique character from the area’s clay and limestone soil. Visit one of the cellars of the region and enjoy a wine tasting session.

Continue to Vézelay. This tiny village is an architectural gem of France and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a guided tour of the basilica dedicated to Saint Mary Madeleine, and admire its Roman carvings and round arches. You will also have free time to stroll around and enjoy the beauty of the landscape before taking lunch in the village.

Return to your hotel in Paris in the coach, arriving at around 1945h (07:45pm).
