You will be picked up from your hotel in Colmar in an air-conditioned vehicle and taken for a sightseeing tour to the beautiful villages and towns along the Alsace Wine Route. A qualified driver/guide (available in English, French, German and Spanish) will accompany you on this tour.
Continue driving through picturesque villages along the Wine Route, with a stopover at Kaysersberg, birthplace of Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Albert Schweitzer. Kaysersberg brilliantly managed to preserve its clean natural environment and its rich historical heritage.
The next halt will be at Ribeauvillé, a charming 13th century town with many Renaissance fountain places. Created by the powerful Counts of Ribeaupierre, the romantic ruins of their castles still dominate the town. The Church of the Augustines Convent, the 13th century Butchers' Towers and its numerous narrow streets create a special atmosphere.
Before going to Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle, you will have a break from around 1215h (12:15pm) to 1345h (01:45pm). During this time your guide will make recommendations for a good restaurant for lunch (payable direct).
The next halt will be at Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle, one of the most widely visited National Monuments of France. This famous medieval fortress dating back to the 12th century looks down across the Alsatian plains. From the top of its towers, the castle offers an unforgettable view across the Vosges, the Rhine, the Black Forest and even across the Alps.
Journey through the Wine Route to Riquewhir, the "pearl of the vineyard" listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France.
To end the trip, a Grands Crus wine tasting in a typical cellar in the heart of the village.
At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at your hotel in Colmar.
