In the Bordeaux wine region ten prestigious great growths are distinguished by the 1855 classification. Every Wednesday, three Châteaux of the ten show their wines and vineyards, bringing to life the history of this classification.

You will visit two of the following vineyards; Château Batailley, Château Beychevelle, Château Brane-Cantenac, Château Branaire-Ducru, Château de Camensac, Château Haut-Bages Libéral, Château Lagrange, Château Pichon Longueville, Château Prieuré-Lichine and Château Rauzan-Segla.

Itinerary

There is no hotel pick-up. Arrive at the Tourist Information Centre, 12 cours du XXX Juillet 33080, Bordeaux Cedex. Your bilingual guide (French and English) will meet you here. Board an air-conditioned coach and set out for a tour of the 1885 Vineyards of the Medoc.

Every Wednesday, three Châteaux in turn show their wines, terroirs and the history of this classification. The chateaus will be among the following:

Chateau Branaire-Ducru (Saint-Julien)
Chateau Cantenac Brown (Margaux)
Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste (Pauillac)
Chateau Batailley
Chateau Beychevelle
Chateau de Camensac
Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal
Chateau Lagrange
Chateau Pichon Longeuville
Chateau Prieure-Lichine
Chateau Rauzan-Segla

Here is a time-wise break-up of your itinerary:

0915h (09:15am): Departure from Bordeaux Tourist Office city-center. Stop at two chateaus for a tour and tasting.

1300h (1:00pm): Lunch at a château.

1530h (3:30pm): Visit another château and enjoy wine tasting.

1830h (6:30pm): Return to Bordeaux.

The tour ends at the starting point.
