  • Overview & Itinerary

    Overview

Drift peacefully down the magnificent Colorado River in this fun-filled rafting excursion.

Pass immense canyon walls that still bear petroglyphs from early inhabitants of the region and gaze at majestic trees that tilt towards the river, as if leaning in for a drink.

Enjoy a delicious lunch on the banks and get a view of the enormous Glen Canyon Dam, which generates enough electricity to power the homes of 650,000 people.

You will also be treated to a scenic drive through the stark and stunning desert landscape of the Navajo Indian Reservation.

    Itinerary

You will be picked up by air-conditioned coach (vans will be used for smaller groups) from your Flagstaff hotel for this Colorado River rafting excursion. A knowledgeable English-speaking guide will accompany you down the river.

Set out across the vast Navajo Indian Reservation, which is the largest Native American reservation in the country, covering some 26,000 square miles. The rust-red rock formations and hauntingly desolate plains are a feast for the eyes and the camera.

Arrive at the shores of the mighty Colorado River at Glen Canyon, where you’ll board your raft. Float contentedly down the river, taking in towering canyon walls and lush riparian vegetation on this trip. Ancient cave dwellers carved petroglyphs on the river’s rocky banks, and their stil-vivid etchings speak across millenniums about the hopes and fears of early man.

Retreat to the shore for a satisfying lunch and get a view of the massive Glen Canyon Dam, which generates more than 3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.

You will be returned to your Flagstaff hotel at tour’s end.
