There is no hotel pick-up. The Reindeer Sleigh Safari begins at Koskikatu 1, 96200 Rovaniemi. You will be picked up from here and transported in a coach/ minivan/ car (depending on the size of the group) to a reindeer farm, accompanied by your bilingual guide (English and Finnish speaking).
Here you will meet the gentle animals and the Sami herders who care for them. The Sami have been herding reindeer since the 17th century.
You will enjoy a 1-hour reindeer sleigh ride through the icy forests. In the evening, when the skies are dark, you may be lucky enough to see the magical spectacle of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).
This natural light show is caused by fast-moving particles from the sun colliding with Earth's upper atmosphere. There are about 200 displays of the Northern Lights in Finnish Lapland each year.
After your exciting ride, you can enjoy hot coffee and a bun around a campfire, while your Sami hosts tell you more about their traditional way of life.
Your excursion ends at the starting point.
