Tour returns to the original departure point
Admire Kom Ombo’s magnificent construction - the court with a columned porch and central altar, the columns embossed with icons of lotus and papyrus symbolizing the ‘two lands’ of Egypt. You’ll come across images of the king leaving the palace with his subjects, the purification of the king and many other similar images on the ceiling.
Built during the Greco-Roman era, Kom Ombo is home to an unusual double temple. The temple on the right is dedicated to crocodile god, Sobek, while the temple on the left was in honour of Haroeris. Each temple has its own entrance, court, halls and sanctuary. The temple is believed to change colours as the sun sets.
After exploring the archaeological site, you will be dropped back to your hotel in Aswan.
Please call the activity operator at least 24 hours prior to start of the tour for reconfirming the departure details.
