Fly 'up up and away' in a beautiful balloon! See the sun rise over Regina and watch the world wake up beneath you.

Float on gentle air-currents with no noisy engines to disturb the peace. Look out for wildlife moving on the ground and wave at any early dog walkers below.

Your pilot will fly at approximately 1000 feet over built up areas, but the balloon will come down to touch the tree tops or skim across the corn fields in the countryside.

Keep the camera ready for some superb photo-opportunities. The dawn light will give a magical quality to your films and pictures.

Itinerary

There is no hotel pick up for your exciting Balloon Ride over Regina. Instead, you will meet your pilot at one of two possible locations: Northgate Mall under the Big Sign on Albert Street or at Victoria Square on Victoria Street. To find out the exact meeting place as well as your flight status and precise meeting time please call the Flight Line number given on your booking voucher the day before your flight.

You can watch the thrilling sight of your balloon taking shape before your eyes, ultimately standing more than 10 stories tall. Once it is fully inflated and ready for take-off, you climb into the gondola for the start of a magical journey.

During your flight, you will watch the sun come up, and see the city of Regina spread out below. You will see its many parks, lakes, ponds and landmark buildings, plus the Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field, home of the Canadian Football League's Saskatchewan Roughriders.

You fly with the prevailing winds, so the flight patterns and landing sites will vary according to the changing wind directions. There is no wind chill and very little feeling of movement or sensation of height.

You will drift silently over the countryside watching for wildlife and passing the time of day with envious onlookers down below. After about an hour's tranquil flight (the exact time depends on the winds) your pilot will prepare for landing.

Once on the ground, you will share in the oldest of ballooning traditions, a Champagne toast to celebrate a successful flight. Soft drinks are also available.

You will then board the vehicle and will be dropped back at the meeting point.

Please note

To confirm meeting time, meeting place, and the status of your flight, it is essential that you call the Flight Line number given on your booking voucher the day before your flight. The flight line message is updated 2300h (11:00pm) for flights the following morning.

Ballooning is extremely weather dependent. Fewer than 10 knots of wind are required, in addition to no impending storms. Your activity operator reserves the right to cancel a flight due to weather conditions or other safety reasons such as equipment malfunction, pilot illness or injury that could affect the safety of the flight.

If your flight is cancelled due to inclement weather conditions, just call the activity operator and reschedule the trip.
The pilot will not wait more than 10 minutes for late- comers, so please leave plenty of travel time to reach the meeting point.
To take a balloon flight you must be in good physical condition. You must be able to climb in and out of the basket, stand for the entire flight and walk out of a field if necessary. The activity operator cannot fly anyone who has had recent surgery, injuries, hip, back or knee problems, health concerns, physical limitations, is/or may be pregnant or has severe auditory restrictions. Please consult your physician if you have any doubts about your fitness, or call the activity operator to discuss your individual situation.

Children must be over 10 to go on a balloon flight and should be accompanied by an adult
Once you have scheduled a flight, 3 business days notice are required for any date changes

The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you may have.
Although the flight lasts approximately 1 hour, you should plan to be available for 4 hours to allow for check-in, travel to a launch location, safety briefing, setup and pack-up of the balloon as well as the return drive to the original meeting location

Dos & Don'ts
Wear casual comfortable clothing and avoid high-heels or sandals. Long pants and sleeves are recommended to protect against mosquitoes. Hiking boots or rubber boots are advised for morning flights when the grass can be wet. The air warms up as the sun rises during morning flights, so it is a good idea to layer your clothing, allowing you to add or remove sweaters or jackets. If you are sensitive to the heat, please bring a hat.
Please feel free to bring your camera, video camera, or binoculars as well as a case to protect them during landing
