You will be picked up from your hotel in Salvador in an air-conditioned coach for your Mangue Seco Sightseeing Adventure tour by your English-speaking guide.
You’ll be taken to Mangue Seco, a 220 kilometer drive from Salvador in the extreme north of Bahia. Mangue Seco is the edge of a peninsula between the sea and the Real River. It is named for its proximity to mangroves. It is an isolated, and therefore pristine location; no roads lead to Mangue Seco.
To reach Mangue Seco, you’ll cross the Real River in traditionally covered canoes. The crossing takes about 30 minutes. The Real River is a barrier between the two states. Upon reaching the opposite shore of the Real River, you’ll board a buggy car for an intense 40 minute ride through the sand dunes. The tour will stop for photography opportunities. The ride will finish at the top ranked beach in Bahia for swimming.
At the beach the tour will stop at a restaurant where you can take lunch and refreshments (payable direct). Showers are available if you’d like to freshen up, as well as hammocks for a siesta (included).
At 1500h (03:00pm) the tour will leave the beach and head to the village to visit Tieta’s House. Enjoy a literary allusion to the novel Tieta written by Jorge Amado. The restaurant is named after this fictional character, famous in Brazilian literature. At the restaurant the tour will stop for ice-cream (payable direct).
You’ll be taken back to your hotel in Salvador, where your tour concludes.
