Overview

Dive into the pages of the past and trail the history of World War II with this full day tour, including moving visits to a war cemetery and the JEATH War Museum, rides on a long-tail speedboat as well as on the Death Railway, along with a chance to cross the historic Bridge 277 on the River Khwae Yai or Kwai as it is popularly known.

We begin our day heading towards to the Mueang Kanchanaburi district as your driver gets you acquainted with incredible details of how WWII impacted the country as well as some heartbreaking tales of the POW (Prisoners of War) camps that dotted the region. Our first stop of the day is the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery where close to 7000 war prisoners and martyrs have been interred, a chance to learn more about these POWs as well as pay our respects. Continuing our journey reliving those harrowing times, we will visit the JEATH War Museum next where you can dig deeper into the harsh realities of war and observe mementos that were left behind.

An enthralling long-tail speedboat ride along the scenic Mae Klong River awaits us next, taking us to the infamous Bridge 277 over Khwae Yai River. Immortalised by the epic 1957 British/American war movie The Bridge on the River Kwai, we will take a walk along the bridge whose original wooden version was bombed in 1945. It’s a goosebump-inducing experience, to say the least!

Our final haunt for the day is the notorious Thai-Burma Railway or as it is commonly known - Death Railway. Embark on a train to ride through a particularly dangerous area, crossing steep cliff edges and deep forested areas, as we recount the stories of all the forced labour that the Allied prisoners were subjected to, building and maintaining the railway line. Post this electrifying activity, we will take a scenic walk into the jungle to reach our restaurant where we will treat you to a stellar selection of dishes for a buffet lunch and finally drop you back to your hotel.
