Overview

Katoomba is a picturesque scenic locale in the famous Blue Mountains near Sydney. It is considered the heart of the Blue Mountains and is famous for its misty hills and fascinating rock formations such as the ‘Three Sisters’. Katoomba lies 1017 meters above sea level.

On this day tour from Sydney you will be taken to Katoomba from where you can enjoy a self guided bush walk. As you walk through the mountains you will enjoy beautiful views and be able to spot kangaroos in their natural environment.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Sydney and travel in an air-conditioned vehicle to Katoomba covering a distance of about 100 kilometres. You will be given a map of the region, and at Katoomba, you can proceed on your self-guided walking tour of this beautiful region.

You may go to the famous Echo Point and enjoy a panoramic view of Jamison Valley and the magnificent ‘Three Sisters’ rock formation. A short walk way from Echo Point is The Giant Stairway which provides access to a number of nature walks through the valley.

Choose a picturesque spot to enjoy the picnic lunch which will be given to you.

After lunch, you may proceed to Scenic World which lies to the west of Echo Point. Here you may enjoy a ride on the steep- incline railway, the Scenic Railway, the skyway or flyway (both cable cars) and see the beauty of the Blue Mountains from different perspectives. Please note the rides are payable direct.

After the tour, you shall be taken back to Sydney and be dropped off at your hotel where the tour ends.

  • Valley Return Ticket that includes the ride into the valley on the Railway or Cableway and ride out of the valley on the Railway or Cable way costs AUD 19 approx per adult and AUD 10 approx for child (4-13 years)
