See the best of Perth and Fremantle on this half day tour which starts with a walk through the beautiful Kings Park and experiencing the unique flora of Western Australia. You will be accompanied by an expert English speaking guide throughout the tour, who will cater to your needs and enlighten you about the sights visited.
Before reaching the historic port Fremantle, soak in the sun at the Cottesloe Beach. When you arrive at Fremantle, take a walk down the main street, either sit at a quaint café or shop for souvenirs at the markets. You can also visit some of the famous attractions like the Maritime Museum, Motor Museum (own expense) or the E Shed Market.
You will take the road back to Perth and on the way see some of the important landmarks of the city including University of Western Australia, Barrack Street Jetty, the famous Bell Tower and the Perth Mint amongst others.
To begin your Perth and Fremantle Half Day Exploration Tour, you will be picked up from your hotel or Perth Sightseeing Centre, Shop 1 Barrack Street Jetty. The course of the tour is as follows:
Kings Park Botanical Gardens:
The park aims to conserve and celebrate the unique and diverse plant life of Western Australia. It is a European style garden with lawns, dense trees and flower beds displaying the beautiful flora of the region.
Take a stroll in the park and walk through the tree canopies on the innovative Lotterywest Federation Walkway and enjoy spectacular bird eye views of the Swan River and the Perth city skyline. You will also see a 750-year-old boab tree in the garden.
Cottesloe Beach:
After Kings Park, walk down on the golden sands of the Cottesloe Beach known for its tranquil lifestyle and is a popular holiday destination for the locals of Perth. It has been termed as the world’s second best family beach by Lonely Planet.
Fremantle:
Once you reach Fremantle, roam the main street, enjoy coffee at one of the cafes or shop at the markets (open only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
Also known as Freo, Fremantle is an interesting amalgamation of the past colonial system and the present vibrant energy. The locals are full of energy and enthusiasm; hence there is always a festival, an art exhibition or other cultural activities going on in the city.
Fremantle is also identified as a social hub that attracts a huge crowd, especially for its weekend markets and Cappuccino Strip with its al fresco dining and coffee round the clock.
Return trip to Perth:
Travel back to Perth from Fremantle by road. You will pass by Perth’s most beautiful suburbs and will see some of the city’s important landmarks like the University of Western Australia, Royal Perth Yacht Club, the Old Swan Brewery, Barrack Street Jetty, the famous Bell Tower and finally the Perth Mint.
