Activity Overview

On this nature and sightseeing tour in Australia, you will visit Shark Bay which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Shark Bay region represents a meeting point of three major climatic regions and forms a transition zone between two major botanical provinces. It is, therefore, home to a staggering variety of plant and animal life. Monkey Mia, which lies within the Shark Bay region is considered the best place to view bottle-nose dolphins and other aquatic life like turtles, sharks, stingrays and sea snakes.

The Pinnacles Desert is an amazing landscape of limestone pinnacles. It is a major attraction in Australia and an unforgettable sight. The Ningaloo Reef, just off North West Cape, has a shallow, brilliant white sandy lagoon of clear tropical water. The reef is home to corals and rare star fish.

This tour is a nature lover’s dream come true and an excellent introduction to Australia’s amazing landscape and flora and fauna for others.

Itinerary

Day 1: Perth-Monkey Mia
You will be picked up from your hotel in Perth, Fremantle or Scarborough and will travel in a luxury coach accompanied by a guide (please select language option). Travel north via the 'lobster fishing' town of Port Denison where you will stop for lunch. Continue in the coach across the Greenough Flats which is famous for its unusual 'leaning trees', through Geraldton and Northampton to reach Shark Bay. Continue to Monkey Mia which is considered one of best locations in the world to spot dolphins. Check in at the Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort or similar. You will stay in a standard room with private facilities. The air-conditioned rooms are tastefully decorated. The resort also has two multi-cuisine restaurants, a café, two bars and a swimming pool.

Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the resort.

Day 2: Monkey Mia-Carnarvon
After breakfast, you will have time at leisure to spend at the beautiful beach. Enjoy the calming view of the beautiful blue water and keep an eye out for the Dolphins who are known to come quite close to the shore and interact with people. You will have the option of enjoying a one hour cruise on the 18 metre sailing catamaran 'Shotover'. Depending on the season, you may spot dolphins, dugongs, turtles, sharks, sting-rays and sea-snakes (payable direct).

Later board the coach and travel to Denham for lunch. Continue along the famous Shell Beach which is primarily made of white shells. See the incredible ‘Stromatolites’ which look like rocks but are in fact the oldest living organism and during daytime seem to sway slightly!

Continue to Carnarvon and check into Best Western Hospitality Inn, Carnarvon where you will spend the next two nights. This is a three and a half star motel located near the waterfront which is frequently visited by ocean turtles and dolphins. You will stay in a standard room with private facilities. The air-conditioned room has a mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, a TV and a radio. The motel has a multi-cuisine restaurant which offers local Gascoyne region produce - finest fresh seafood, tropical fruits and vegetables among other types of food.

Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the motel.

Day 3: Coral Bay-Ningaloo Reef
After breakfast, board the coach and travel to Coral Bay which is the chief attraction in the pristine 260-kilometre long Ningaloo Reef. Within the waters here you may see exquisite corals, rare starfish, giant clams, over 460 species of fish, manta rays, dugong and dolphins. Listen to your guide tell you more about the aquatic life found here. Choose between a coral viewing or snorkelling experience. The duration of the cruise will be one and a half hours. You will be provided with snorkelling equipment should you opt for snorkelling.

There will be a break for lunch (payable direct) at a suitable place and time.

Return to your motel for dinner and to spend the night.

Day 4: Carnarvon-Kalbarri
After breakfast, board the coach and travel to Hawks Head in Kalbarri National Park, one of the area’s most spectacular gorges. It has bands of red and white which makes the gorge unique and very pretty. Known for wildflowers (best seen July to October) and magnificent rocky landscapes, the Park is a major tourist attraction here. You will stop here to view the seasonal flowers before continuing to the coastal township of Kalbarri for your overnight stay.

Check into Best Western Kalbarri Palm Resort, Kalbarri. You will stay in a standard room with private facilities. This three and a half star resort is located near cafes, beaches and shopping avenues. The air-conditioned rooms are comfortably furnished and have tea and coffee making facilities among others. The resort also has swimming pools, a spa and a multi-cuisine restaurant.

Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the resort.

Day 5: Kalbarri-Perth
After breakfast, check out of the resort, board the coach and travel south along the coast seeing the beautiful Kalbarri coastal gorges. You will then stop for lunch at the rock lobster fishing village of Cervantes which is the gateway to the renowned Pinnacles Desert. This is an amazing moon-like landscape with rather strange-looking pinnacles that rise to a height of several metres. You will have time to stroll here and take pictures of these amazing limestone spires.

Later board the coach and travel back to your hotel where the tour ends.
