On this tour, you will journey through the picturesque Dampier Peninsula to see the remote coastal wilderness area of Cape Leveque and meet the Aborigines that inhabit the area.

On this tour, you will also have time at leisure to explore the scenic beauty of the beach and perhaps, enjoy a swim in the clear blue waters.

Itinerary

This tour is available in options: you could either enjoy the tour in a 4WD, or you could travel in a 4WD and take a return flight back, or you could opt for the 4 WD, fly and scenic flight option.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Broome or Cable Beach and will travel in a 4 WD through the rugged terrain of this region. As you listen to expert commentary by your driver you will stop along the way to explore cultural and historical aspects of the peninsula, with the first break for morning tea at Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community. Learn more about the beliefs and customs of this community and also se the exquisite Pearl Shell Altar in a church built in 1918 by the Pallotine Monks.

Continue further north to the coastal wilderness of Cape Leveque which is situated at the tip of the Dampier Peninsula. See the stunning western beach where the red cliffs meet the ocean (please note this is subject to vehicle access at that time). Enjoy a 4WD onto the beach and you will have approximately two hours to enjoy the beach. You may swim or stroll along the coastline. During this period, you will also enjoy a delicious picnic lunch.

Later, board the vehicle and on the return journey, you will stop to visit the Lombadina Aboriginal Community with whom you will enjoy afternoon tea. Enjoy an Aborigine-guided tour here (when available) and learn more about this community and their lifestyle. You may have the opportunity to purchase traditional hand crafted works made from trochus shell, ebony and pearl shell and view the community church, considered a bush architecture masterpiece.

After that, travel back to your hotel in Broome or Cable Beach where the tour ends.

If you opted for the 4WD and fly option, you will travel in a vehicle from your hotel to Cape Leveque. You will return from Cape Leveque along the Dampier Peninsula coastline back to Broome in a light aircraft. The rest of the tour remains the same.

If you opted for the 4 WD/fly and scenic flight option, you will enjoy a light aircraft flight from Broome to Cape Leveque and another scenic flight over the Buccaneer Archipelago Islands where you will be able to see the picturesque Horizontal Waterfall and the Cockatoo Island. You will return to Broome by 4 WD. The rest of the tour remains the same.
