Your accommodation in Broome
As you fly over the mighty Fitzroy River, have your camera ready. The magnificent archipelago with its many pearl farms is wonderfully photogenic.
Marvel at the extraordinary horizontal waterfall of Talbot Bay caused by huge tides surging between the islands.
Touch down at picturesque Cape Leveque for tea and a refreshing swim in tranquil surroundings before heading home over a wildly beautiful coast rich in aboriginal heritage.
You will be picked up from your accommodation / hotel in Broome and driven to the airport to catch your scenic flight. Sit back and enjoy the views with an English commentary from your pilot.
As you take off from Broome you will see clear views of Chinatown, the original commercial hub of Broome, with its quaint, corrugated iron huts.
You will fly on to the Dampier Peninsula, known to local indigenous people as 'Ardi' meaning 'heading North'. This beautiful finger of land is named after William Dampier, the first Englishman to set foot in Australia in 1688.
Descending over King Sound you will get a clear view of the great Fitzroy River. In the wet season, the rate of water flow down this waterway is greater than in any other river on earth.
King Sound is famous for the size of the tides, at around 12 meters the biggest tidal range in Australia and the second biggest in the world.
As the plane drops down, hundreds of the thousand rugged islands in the Buccaneer Archipelago appear as if by magic.
There's even more magic when you see the fantastic horizontal waterfall. This extraordinary phenomenon is created by one of the highest tides in the world flowing in a white-water plume through two narrow openings.
Flying on to Talbot Bay you will see hundreds of lines of pearl shell under cultivation. These belong to the Paspaley Pearling Company, the biggest name in South Sea pearls.
Weaving through the islands, including the former iron-ore mining sites of Cockatoo and Koolan, the pilot sets course for Cape Leveque where you will land and spend around 45 minutes. In this peaceful paradise, you can enjoy a cup of tea and bathe in temperate, turquoise waters.
Points of interest on the return journey include the Beagle Bay and Lombadina aboriginal communities, once mission stations. The church at Beagle Bay is famous for its unique pearl shell altar.
After landing at Broome you will be dropped back at your hotel / accommodation.
