Activity Overview

This tour takes you through the vast desert landscapes of the Australian Outback. Admire the view of Atila (Mt Conner) mesa rising above the desert plain. Enjoy an energetic early-guided walk to the rim of Kings Canyon and the ‘Garden of Eden’. Or walk along the canyon floor taking in the stunning views of the canyon walls looming above. This tour provides you the perfect opportunity to admire Kings Canyons, one of the greatest wonders of nature.

Itinerary

Day 1:
You will be picked up from your hotel in Ayers Rock and taken in an air conditioned coach for this tour. En route, listen to a live commentary that will acquaint you with the history and attractions of the region. Drive to Uluru and see:
Mt Connor: View Mt Connor, the spectacular 700 million year old sand and rock table top mountain.
Watarrka National Park: This scenic landscape of rugged ranges, rockholes and gorges is a refuge for many plants and animals, making the Park an important conservation area. The park is synonymous with the Kings Canyon, which is located here.
Kings Canyon: Kings Canyon is situated within the Watarrka National Park, and is a huge canyon 270m high. The walk around the rim of the canyon is definitely worth it as the views are spectacular.
George Gill Ranges: These ranges are home to unique landscapes housing rare flora and fauna.
Stay the night at Kings Canyon Resort. The resort has a selection of restaurants and cafes.

Day 2:

Proceed to Kings Canyon where you can undertake a Rim Walk or a Floor Walk. You will be accompanied by a guide.
Rim Walk: Pass the tropical pools of the Garden of Eden, and the beehive rock formations called the Lost City. The views from the canyon are also spectacular, overlooking the beautiful landscape.
Floor Walk: Take the walk through the canyon gorge looking up to the towering canyon above you.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off to your accommodation in Alice Springs.
