Look out for petroglyphs (stone carvings) that can be found on the floor of the gorge and learn of the legends surrounding this sacred place. Watch the sun set over the undulating folds of Ayers Rock and wake to a stunning sunrise over Uluru. The tour is a must for the nature enthusiasts who can revel in its wonders and relax in its tranquillity.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kata Tjuta - Olgas
You will be picked up from the Ayers Rock Airport and taken for this tour in an air conditioned luxury coach accompanied by an English-speaking guide.
Travel to Kata Tjuta (Olgas). Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, these rock formations are also an important part of the cultural landscape of the region. The features of both Uluru and Kata Tjuta are physical evidence of the actions, artifacts and bodies of the ancestral heroes (the tjukuritja) who travelled the earth in creation times. The travels of these ancestral heroes are celebrated in Anangu religion and culture today.
Proceed to Olga Gorge. Enjoy a walk here and see some of the rare plants that are only found in and around these distinct sandstone formations. Keep an eye out for petroglyphs (stone carvings) that can be found on the floor of the gorge and learn of the legends surrounding this sacred place.
Before turning in for the night under the stunning Outback night sky, watch the sun set over the undulating folds of Ayers Rock. Savour some snacks and a drink while watching the sunset.

Stay the night at Ayers Rock resort.

Day 2: Uluru - Ayers Rock
Enjoy a sunrise over Uluru over tea/coffee and biscuits.
Then take a guided walk to Mutitjulu waterhole, where you can view Aboriginal rock art.
Tour the base of the Uluru and learn about the geology and flora of the region on the Mala Walk.
You can opt to climb the Uluru or visit the cultural centre and the Maruku Arts and Crafts Cooperative. This is a craft company, owned and controlled by Anangu (Aboriginal people from the south east and west of Central Australia). Here, you will find an interesting collection of handicrafts.
Drive back to Ayers Rock where you will be dropped off at the airport.
Flights must be booked to depart after 2.00pm
