Overview

Spend two glorious days discovering the best of Cambodia on a 2-Day Angkor Wat & Kampong Phluk Private Tour!

Avoid the crowds on a private two-day tour of some of the most beautiful and historically important places in the Siem Reap Province! We will start our journey in the ancient ruins of the Angkor Empire, also known as the Khmer Empire. You will first visit Angkor Thom, which was the capital city of the Khmer Empire during the Middle Ages. Your professional and private tour guide is exclusively dedicated to your private group; so, feel free to ask as many questions as you like while visiting famous sites like the Bayon Temple, Terrace of the Elephants, and others! Check out Ta Prohm Temple, which is almost totally consumed by gigantic trees in the midst of the jungle. Then, finally, in the afternoon you will visit Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world and the most recognizable of all Cambodia attractions. Take note of the intricate stonework and carefully maintained galleries and listen as your private tour guide explains the historical importance of the site.

On your second day, you will get a private tour of one of the ‘floating villages’ found on the seasonal freshwater lake, Tonlé Sap. The Tonlé Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and provides half the supply of Cambodia’s freshwater fish. In Kampong Phluk village, you’ll come upon villagers going about their daily lives and check out some pigpens and crocodile enclosures that seemingly float on the water. You can even upgrade your tour for a boat ride on the lake! Then, after our visit to Kampong Phluk village, we will proceed to the Roluos temples. Dating back to the 9th century, these are some of the earliest and oldest structures built by the Khmer Empire. Prepare to be awestruck by the amazing detail and skilled craftsmanship as your private group hears about the interesting history of this site. If you’re looking for an exclusive, private experience during your Cambodia sightseeing, then the 2-Day Angkor Wat & Kampong Phluk Private Tour is what to do in Cambodia!

Itinerary

Day 1: Siem Reap – Full-Day Temples of Angkor Small Group Tour

After an 8:30 a.m. pick-up in front of your hotel, enjoy a comfortable ride in our air-conditioned vehicle as we make our way to the Angkor Wat temple complex. Once we have arrived, we will first visit the fortified city of Angkor Thom. Enter through the South Gate and ride along a causeway lined by statues of demons and gods. We’ll then continue on to the famous Bayon temple, Terrace of the Elephants, and Terrace of the Leper Kings.

Then, we’ll make our way to Ta Phrom, which is a temple that’s being overtaken by the surrounding jungle. After that, we’ll arrive at the 7th Wonder of the World: Angkor Wat. After exploring the largest and most impressive temple in the entire complex, you will be driven back to your hotel.

Day 2: Siem Reap – Kampong Phluk and Roluos Group

After your convenient hotel pick-up, we’ll drive 30 minutes to the Chong Khneas village in Kampong Phluk. From there, we’ll take an optional cruise along a canal, past floating villages complete with schools, restaurants, and even a hospital. See fishing nets being mended, children swimming and playing, floating pigpens and even crocodile enclosures.

We’ll then continue through a section of mangroves and out onto the massive lake. We’ll cruise past local fishermen and an amazing array of boats before stopping at a floating fish and crocodile farm. The roof of this structure makes an excellent spot to take photos of the lake and the surrounding area. This journey provides a truly amazing look into a remarkable way of life.

After Visit Kampong Phluk, we will explore the Roulous temples, which are among the oldest Khmer monuments in the area, dating back to the 9th century. Among the Roluos temples, you’ll find some of the earliest permanent structures built by the Khmer people. Some were built completely with bricks, while others partially used laterite or sandstone. After you finish your visit at Roluos Group, our guide and driver will drop you back off at your hotel , ending the tour.
