Overview

Enjoy priority access to the mighty Colosseum, one of history's most iconic buildings!

Emperors Vespasian and Titus built the Colosseum from 72-80 C.E – or to be accurate, thousands of their slaves did. It functioned as an amphitheater where Roman civilians and the elite of the city could come and be entertained by gory games. During its heydays, 80,000 people would cram into it, but today, the Colosseum has to settle for 3,000 selfie stick-wielding tourists. Gladiators would be pitted against lions, you could watch a good old-fashioned hunt, or even an execution.

Enjoy a glimpse of regular civilian life at the Roman Forum, once the cultural hub of the city, and Palatine Hill, as you spend time exploring the ruins. Recreate in your mind’s eye lively markets, public structures, and the houses of politicians. Take in stunning views of Rome from the top of Palatine Hill, one of the seven hills on which the city Rome was built.
