Getting there

  • There are plenty of ways of getting around the Avignon. You could travel by well-connected public buses, high-speed trains, rent a car for your stay, book cabs or rent bicycles. Bus tickets can be bought from drivers and at TCRA (Transports en Commun de la Région d'Avignon) kiosks throughout town. Avignon’s Old Town is best explored on foot and regular shuttles connect the TGV station with Avignon Centre.
Money saving tips

Avignon is for the budget traveler as much as it is for the luxury vacationer. With a little bit of research, you can find the right budget hotel for yourself. Shop at the local market for fresh farm produce, choose street food over restaurant food when eating out and opt for public transport instead of taking taxis to save a ton of dough. Visiting during peak winters and the off season and booking months in advance is another great way to stay within your budget.
