Our tips for Cape Tribulation

  • To fully experience the beauty of the Daintree National Park, spend at least 2-3 nights there. Sleeping in the rainforest beneath the stars and waking up with the animals in Daintree Rainforest will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
  • To visit the national park, you have to cross the Daintree River. The only way across is by the Daintree River Ferry which costs approx. AU$30 return, per vehicle. However, the multi day pass which allows up to 5 return trips costs AU$59 per vehicle, can help you save some money.
  • Book a guided tour of Cape Tribulation from Cairns to make the best of your trip. There are also tours that offer roundtrip transfers from Port Douglas. Visit all the must-see sites in Daintree as well as go on a Daintree River Cruise.

Good to know

Although Cape Tribulation has its own unique appeal at different times of the year, the ideal time for a visit is during the drier and cooler months of May to September. The weather is pleasant at this time and humidity levels are low.
