Your Big Bus Washington DC 48 Hour Pass enables you to discover the US capital at your own pace and in your own way. The fun and flexible 24-hour pass provides access to four great loops, with a total of 60 stops, as well as a night bus tour. Plus, your combo ticket also includes two great bonuses – two free walking tours and free admission to Madame Tussauds.
Relax on a comfortable open-top double-decker bus as you travel past all the main highlights of Washington DC on one of the four loops. As you go along you can listen through headphones to an informative recorded commentary available in eight languages. In addition, there is a live commentary in English on the Red and Yellow Loops. The Night Tour has a live English guide and no recorded commentary.
You can join the bus at any of the stops on each of the four loops and show your voucher to the driver. Jump on and off just as you like to see the sights or to catch a bite to eat. Buses run regularly so joining the tour is easy.
The Four Loops:
Red Loop: includes all the places we associate with the US capital. The White House, US Capitol, Air and Space Museum, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial are just some of the famous landmarks you will see.
Blue Loop: travels across the Potomac River to the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery. Have the camera ready because the journey across the Potomac offers stunning views and photo opportunities.
Yellow Loop: goes through Washington’s historic center. You will pass the famous Ford Theater before heading out to explore picturesque Georgetown.
Green Loop: takes you uphill to the National Cathedral on a traditional trolley.
You can leave the tour at any point and will then need to make your own arrangements to return to your accommodation.
Unlike the tours described above this is not a hop-on hop-off tour. The 2.5 hour tour has an early pick up at 7:00pm at the Willard Hotel and the main tour starts at 7:30pm at Union Station. You can join at either of these points. Winter timings are different and the Night Tour picks up at 6:00pm at the Willard Hotel and departs at 6:30pm from Union Station.
You will be accompanied by a live English speaking guide who will tell you all about the famous places you will see.
Highlights of the Night Tour include the following: Lincoln Memorial, MLK Memorial, FDR Memorial, and Iwo Jima Memorial.
At the end of the Night Tour there is a courtesy shuttle back to the Willard Hotel and Union Station.
