Get to know Singapore, one of the most modern cities in Asia, on a sightseeing tour around the city. Drive round the Civic District, pass by the Padang – a large open playing field – surrounded by important buildings such as Saint Andrew’s Cathedral and City Hall. You will also see the historic Parliament House and Supreme Court.
During your exciting sightseeing spree, you will stop at the Merlion Park to see the stupendous 70-tonne sculpture with water gushing out of its mouth: The Merlion, a mythological creature that is part lion and part fish, represents Singapore’s humble origins as a fishing village.
Other places you will see include theThian Hock Keng Temple, one of Singapore’s oldest, and the National Orchid Garden with its spectacular collection of orchids of all varieties, colours and shapes.
Finally, the tour closes with a thrilling ride on the Singapore Flyer, the biggest Ferris wheel in the world. The Flyer will take you to the dizzying height of 165 meters, from where you can gaze upon the skyscrapers, the beautiful bay and the island in the distance. The ride will take 30 minutes, giving you ample time to get that perfect photograph and take in the views.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Singapore at 8:30am or 1:30pm depending on which tour you have chosen.
Drive around Singapore in a comfortable coach; you will see the Civic District, passing by the Padang, Cricket Club, historic Parliament House, Supreme Court and City Hall.
Stop at the Merlion Park and enjoy the impressive views of Marina Bay. Have your picture taken in front of The Merlion, an impressive statue depicting a mythical creature.
Next, visit the Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of Singapore’s oldest temples, before driving through Chinatown. For a unique look at the local handicrafts, stop by at a Handicraft Centre and observe craftsmen at work up-close.
Proceed to the Singapore Botanic Gardens and the spectacular National Orchid Garden, which boasts a sprawling display of 60,000 orchid plants.
The final stop of the tour is at Little India, full of dazzling colours and the enticing scents of joss sticks, jasmine and spices.
Finally, you will be taken to the Singapore Flyer: the world’s tallest Ferris wheel. This is a must-do whilst visiting the city: you will have unobstructed views of the skyscrapers, the beautiful Marina Bay and islands in the distance. The flight will last around 30 minutes.
Back at ground level, you must make your own way back to your accommodation.
