The Basilica di Santa Croce Florence’s principal church and, Palazzo della Signoria, the town hall, are wonderful examples of Renaissance architecture. Piazza del Duomo and Bargello Palace also reflect the spirit of Renaissance that redefined the concept of art in Europe.

This tour includes a visit to Galleria dell’Accademia home to Michelangelo’s David, as well as a drive to Piazzale Michelangelo, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city.

Itinerary

The tour starts at 0930h (09:30am) from the Piazza Stazione, accompanied by a guide, board a coach for your tour of Florence.

Travel to Piazzale Michelangelo, for a wonderful photo stop. This esplanade provides a bird’s eye view of Florence and its picturesque surroundings. From here, you can get a wonderful view of some of the city’s most celebrated buildings.

Re-board the coach and travel to the historic centre of Florence for a walking tour of the Piazza del Duomo. This is one of the most spectacular squares in all of Florence. The cathedral, with its tiered pink, white and green Gothic façade will leave you enthralled.

Proceed to the Galleria dell’Accademia. The Galleria displays paintings and sculptures of famous Florentine artists. The works, spanning the 13th to 16th centuries, include the world’s most famous statue, David, carved from a single block of marble rock by Michelangelo.

The tour ends inside the museum at around 1245h (12:45pm), you are free to stay in the museum and browse at your leisure. If you have selected the lunch option you will take a short walk to a historic restaurant in the heart of Florence where you will enjoy a light lunch with drinks.

This tour operates with a minimum of 2 people (English speaking) or 4 people (Spanish, French, German & Italian Speaking). Should this minimum number not be met for your chosen tour every effort will me made to move you to another date, should this not be possible we will offer you a full refund.
Galleria dell’Accademia is closed on Mondays and will be replaced with visit to the Bargello museum or the Medici Chapels.
