Feed the homeless.<\/h4>\n

Just because it has become a clich\u00e9 Thanksgiving Day activity doesn\u2019t mean you should live your whole life without trying it.\u00a0 Do it at least once during your lifetime.\u00a0 After delivering a free plate of food, the feeling you get when a hungry person smiles and thanks you is indescribable.\u00a0 You just might find your calling in life!\u00a0 Plus, none of your family members can rightfully judge you for missing Thanksgiving dinner!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s a turkey trot?\u00a0 It\u2019s a long distance footrace held on Thanksgiving in dozens of cities across the U.S.\u00a0 It\u2019s actually a fun activity because many of the participants run or walk while dressed as turkeys, pilgrims, etc.\u00a0 Almost all of the turkey trots benefit a local charity or school organization.\u00a0 So, you can tell yourself that you aren\u2019t running from<\/em> your family.\u00a0 You\u2019re running towards<\/em> becoming a better person!<\/p>\n

Visit a hospital or nursing home.<\/h4>\n

Finally, no one is going to hold it against you if you skip out on Thanksgiving to tend to the sick or the elderly.\u00a0 Create some greeting cards or other crafts and pass them out at your local hospital or nursing home.\u00a0 It feels great to bring smiles to their faces and it makes you think about why you should be more thankful this holiday season.<\/p>\n
