Hang out the bunting and raise a glass. Time to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Early June marks the special occasion, and people across the UK will hold street parties, singing songs and lighting beacons. A celebratory feel is sweeping across the country to mark the day. <\/strong><\/p>\n

There\u2019s a special concert to be held outside Buckingham Palace, parades and displays. The UK even gets an extended holiday weekend! Want to join the party?<\/p>\n

Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating a staggering 70 years on the throne, and to mark the occasion, there are several organised events taking place that you can be a part of. So, if you\u2019re London bound, keep your eye out for the following.<\/p>\n

  1. There\u2019s a Platinum Jubilee Pageant, taking in street art, theatre and music and dance.<\/li>\n
  2. On the second Saturday in June, there will be the Queen\u2019s Birthday parade (Trooping the colour). It\u2019ll begin at Buckingham Palace, moving down the Mall towards Horse Guard\u2019s Parade.<\/li>\n
  3. And the BBC is holding a concert outside Buckingham Palace with performers from across the world. It\u2019s going to be a spectacular occasion.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    With smaller events being held in cities, towns and villages, you\u2019ll not be short of things to do. However, if you are looking for a something royal themed to do, a tour for example, we give you some top tips on how to spend your Platinum jubilee weekend.<\/p>\n

    What to do in London<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    The capital will be the focus of many major events and is where you\u2019ll find the majority of the royal themed attractions. If you just want to explore, then a hop on bus tour<\/a> is a great way to capture the best of the city without the need to move from your seat. But you can, of course, especially if a place takes your fancy. There are royal themed tours that will show you all the key places, including Buckingham Palace<\/a>, the royal parks.<\/p>\n

    Head up London Eye for a panoramic view across the city and down the River Thames. Talking of the Thames, you can catch a boat<\/a> and glide by many of London\u2019s top attractions, including the Tower of London<\/a> and Tower Bridge. Or if you\u2019re looking for something a little faster\u2026 try the speed boats! It\u2019s the best view of the sights of London around.<\/p>\n

    Top tip<\/strong><\/em>: Get a London pass and it\u2019ll open up many an attraction door!<\/p>\n

    Head out of the city<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    If the crowds of London don\u2019t seem very appealing, then you have options to explore other royal themed places. Windsor<\/a> is just up the road and is a spectacular example of a working\/living castle. A tour around the castle is a very special experience, the treasures, artwork and the grandness of the rooms you can explore. A right royal treat!<\/p>\n

    Extend the tour and you can take in Royal Bath, Salisbury and Stonehenge<\/a>. From the mystical stones to the Roman bath, these are places that where the fun of learning is as important as actually seeing them.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Plenty will take place during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend; it\u2019ll make for a celebratory time to head to the capital or around the country. Let\u2019s hope the weather holds! Congratulations your Majesty.
