Tokyo, all neon lights, giant flashing TV screens belting out the latest J-pop tune, noise from the chattering hordes and the snarled-up traffic. Shoppers and workers scurrying their way along the pavements towards the busy station or into the sanctuary of their favourite restaurant. You\u2019d be forgiven for thinking you were in a scene from Blade Runner.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have a moment to take this all in! Shibuya by the famous crossing in central Tokyo will do. Stand there, see all this activity going on around you and you know you\u2019ve arrived. This is Tokyo, this is Japan<\/a>!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world\u2019s largest metropolis stretches out before you, row on row of office buildings and houses, a scattering of skyscrapers. It\u2019s a daunting sight, but one that will thrill. It\u2019s time to dip in and immerse into the food, culture and attractions. The city is waiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Central Tokyo\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
\"Shibuya<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Tokyo has several central districts of offices and large shopping complexes and eateries. Shinjuku and Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Odaiba and Ginza being prime examples. Enjoy the shopping and wandering but check out some city\u2019s major attractions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tokyo Skytree<\/a><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To get that view I spoke about, head up Tokyo Skytree. Not only is it the world\u2019s tallest tower, but the views from the top are stunning. You\u2019ll get a genuine sense of the size of the city. And if the weather is clear, you\u2019ll see Mt Fuji.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tokyo Disneyland<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll need two days to get the most out of your Tokyo Disneyland visit. There are two parks to explore. Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea. Both offer the Disney magic, thrills and delights. Pick your Disneyland tickets wisely would be a top tip. Then head for the magic and enjoy.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make sure you immerse yourself with the food. Japanese cuisine is up there with the very best and be sure to check out the parks. Yoyogi Park being a good example. Go there during the Cherry Blossom season and you\u2019ll be in for a colour treat. Taking walking tours with locals will ensure you try the best food and get an authentic experience your trip deserves. How about a tour with a Sumo wrestler<\/a>, for example!!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outside of Tokyo<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

When I say outside, I\u2019m talking a good 2 hrs journey here! The time it takes though is well worth the wait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mount Fuji<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hakone is the destination for a day trip out to get close to the famous volcano. Take in nature\u2019s changing colours during autumn. See the majestic Fujisan as you explore the region by train, cable car and boat. The bright lights of Tokyo will seem a long way away out here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kamakura and Enoshima\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An hour out of the city is the seaside region of Enoshima and the ancient area of Kamakura. It\u2019s like a mini-Kyoto! Enjoy strolling among the immaculate Japanese gardens and peaceful shrines. See the giant Buddha and explore around the island of Enoshima. A perfect day out from the shopping malls!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tokyo is a city of experiences, from shopping in the fashion malls to ordering your first plate of sushi. Heading up a skyscraper for a view or ordering your dinner by pointing at a plastic imitation.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
