Overview

Set out on a scenic tour which will take you to breath-taking Ronda; an ancient Spanish town located atop the El Tajo gorge which plunges down hundreds of metres. This gorge dramatically divides the town into two and uniting both these sections is a spectacular 18th century arched bridge.

This scenic tour to Ronda offers endless photographic opportunities – you will see houses clinging to the steep valley, distant olive fields, misty mountains and lots of unforgettable vistas.

In Ronda you can stroll around the maze-like old section of Ronda and look out for ancient Arabic houses which provide the flavour of an old Muslim town.

Itinerary

You will be picked up in the morning from your designated pick-up point. Accompanied by an English or German speaking guide, you will be taken in a coach for a guided tour of Ronda.

Since the tour starts early you are advised to either have breakfast at your hotel or pack something to eat along the way.

A scenic drive through the mountains will take you to Ronda, one of the oldest towns in Spain. The journey from Malaga, takes approximately two and a half hours in each direction.

On arrival into Ronda, you will visit the old section of the town and see many Arabian houses. Wander the narrow medieval streets, boasting a series of renaissance palaces and baroque churches, as you wind your way to the multi-layered bridge across the gorge, which was made famous by Ernest Hemingway in his classic novel For Whom The Bell Tolls.

Admire the solid and sturdy city walls that have protected the town for centuries and continue to create a sense of exclusivity, hiding what lies behind them but for the odd belfry. Enjoy a leisurely day filled with scenery, sights and culture.

Fantastic trip, good value for money, the guides were excellent and the Ronda guide was just enough with spare time for shopping, eating and a drink before the journey back home. A great trip.
