Overview

Experience an ultimate winter getaway with family and friends at Hwacheon County in Gangwon-do that hosts the yearly Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival. Avoid the hassle of travel in the cold weather with comfortable hotel transfers from Seoul.

Enjoy the two hour drive to Hwacheon, post which your guide will hand over your ice fishing tickets. There are innumerable trouts wandering under the 30cms sheet of ice spread in the area during wintertime, giving visitors an excellent chance of ice fishing. Enjoy a short course on the techniques to catch the fish with a fishing rod and enjoy your time along with a million other tourists, who flock to this festival yearly!

If you’re adventurous enough, you may even consider jumping into the icy waters for barehanded fishing! There are plenty of activities at the festival that you can explore at your own expense including ice sliding, bobsled, ice soccer, fun rides, elgomi bike and more!
