To arrive at the venue take as a reference the Vittoriano (big white monument located in piazza Venezia). Facing it, cross Via dei Fori Imperiali and walk in the direction of the white column with spirals around and a statue on the top. Keep walking leaving the column on your right and the churches on your left. As soon as you overcome the second church, turn left into Via di Sant’Eufemia

The The Rome Food, Pizza and Colosseum Small-Group Tour will be centred aroundRione Monti, a stone’s throw away from the Colosseum, tucked between busy Via Cavour and Via Nazionale. It is a lesser known historical centre as compared to its surrounding sites and has an amazing medieval atmosphere setting through a maze of lanes and alleys with many small family run shops, restaurants and bars to explore.
You will meet your English speaking guide at Via di Sant’Eufemia, which is very close to Piazza Venezia. Your guide will take you around Monti through little alleys with ancient medieval towers, where you can still see the authentic parts of Rome and enter local family run shops and savour authentic pizza with its many ingredients, shapes and styles of baking.
During the course of the tour you will come across a range of authentic Italian delicacies and get acquainted with its preparation.Your first stop will be a 100-year-old bakery where you will taste Pizza AllaTeglia cooked in a special baking tin. Learn about the three different ways of making Italian pizzas and their historical importance in this very charming retro-style bakery.
Next, make your way to a deli and lick your fingers as you try the authentic ingredients added toppings for the different kind of pizzas like margherita, capricciosa etc and learn about how to make the best Italian pizza. Also, sip the first Italian soft drink called Chinotto, found in 1932.
Don’t let the walk and gorge come in the way of your sightseeing as your guide will take you to the heart of the Monti District for a historical site stop, where our guide will share information and anecdotes about this area of Rome, also famous for housing the Colosseum.
Continue your food extravagance with a slice of Pizza Alla Pala, cooked on an oven flint rock. Now it's time to indulge your sweet tooth with an Italian Gelato tasting! With your guide you will taste the best gelato shop in Rione Monti who make their own creations by hand with seasonal ingredients.
Then move on to witness the famous Colosseum.
End your tour by relaxing at a wood oven pizzeria and enjoy the art of making pizza from a pizza maker, also called a Pizzialo.

A minimum of 2 passengers are required for the tour to operate, should you make a booking for 1 person and there not be anyone else booked every effort will be made to move you to another date, should this not be possible you will be offered a full refund.
