The Golden Circle is Iceland’s number 1 tour and a must do when in Reykjavik.
You will be taken on a 300km round trip which showcases the power and beauty of Iceland’s natural environment. You will have opportunity to visit an active Geysir, experience the ferocity of the Gulfoss waterfall and visit Þingvellir National Park which is steeped in both history and beauty.
This version of the Golden Circle tour includes entrance to the idyllic Friðheimar greenhouse cultivation centre, where you can explore the warm and bright greenhouses and see varieties of cucumbers and tomatoes.
You will be picked up from your hotel/guesthouse at 0830h (08:30am) and taken on a guided coach tour of Reykjavik’s famed Golden Circle.
The tour will visit the following places:
• Gullfoss waterfall: This is the queen of Iceland's waterfalls, tumbling down a deep gorge.
• Geysir hot spring area: You can walk around the world-famous Geysir area, a geothermal field where hot springs are in abundance, geysers explode and pools of mud bubble.
• Friðheimar Greenhouse Cultivation Centre: Learn about the magic behind growing delicious, pesticide-free tomatoes and cucumbers with the aid of the geothermal heat that Iceland has in abundance.
• Þingvellir National Park: This is the place of the most historic events in Iceland and exceptional beauty. Þingvellir is the original site of the oldest existing parliament in the world, the Alþingi. The Great Atlantic rift is clearly visible, a rift which is slowly pulling Iceland apart along tectonic plates.
The tour returns to the starting point after approximately 8 hours.
Please call the activity operator at least 24 hours prior to start of the tour to confirm all departure details.
The visit to Þingvellir National Park is subject to road and weather conditions.
Pick-up at hotels and guesthouses 30 minutes before start time.
Drop off may sometimes not be right in front of your hotel/guesthouse due to narrow streets.
We offer free access to Geysir Museum with this package, however we cannot guarantee the same.
The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you may have.
