Overview

Every city in the world has a bohemian district but only in Prague does Bohemian mean something much more special. The Bohemian Prague tour covers the essence of the Czech capital, from iconic landmarks to the tastes, sights and sounds of the City of a Hundred Spires. Come along and learn all about its architecture, art, culture and people during this morning tour.

Start your adventure at the statue of St Wenceslas, Duke of Bohemia, martyr and patron saint of the Czechs, and then head for a ride on a Paternoster, a rare and bizarre open-door lift from the 1920s (closed on weekends). Then it’s time for a nibble, with some ‘smazeny syr’ fried cheese, a staple during communist times.

Continue to the former communist secret police offices before entering the Old Town and a journey through medieval Bohemia. Roam the winding alleys in search of an absinthe shop, where you can witness the preparation of this spirit, which is banned in many countries. Enjoy a taste of the ‘green fairy’ – as it is affectionately called by aficionados – before checking out the epic views from Charles Bridge.

Hear stories of the mythical Golem as you explore the former Jewish ghetto and see another Prague legend at the unusual statue of Franz Kafka. It’s time for refreshment with a visit to a traditional Bohemian pub to savour a genuine Czech pilsner. Discover, too, the only shop in Prague still selling toys from the communist era and the stunning art nouveau Municipal House.
