In winter, take the “Journey Behind The Falls” and travel below and behind the heart of Niagara. Peer into the mist where the mighty Horseshoe Falls tumbles from 13 storeys above!
This tour is perfect for anyone who’s longing to visit Niagara but is short of time. Return flights from New York and all transfers are included plus a guided tour of Niagara from both the Canadian and American sides. You’ll also enjoy a buffet lunch in Canada in a restaurant with stunning views of the falls.
Make sure you have your camera to capture the beauty of one of the world’s greatest water features.
At the start of your exhilarating Day Trip By Air To Niagara Falls – from New York, you will be picked up from your midtown Manhattan hotel (23rd Street to 74th Street). An air-conditioned minibus will take you to JFK international Airport.
You will fly to Buffalo, a journey of approximately 1 hour, where you will be met by your tour guide and will board a vehicle to take you to Niagara Falls.
Niagara is the most powerful waterfall in North America. The word Niagara comes from the word “onguiaahra”, which means “a thundering noise”. Although Niagara Falls is not exceptionally high, it is so wide that a huge volume of water flows over the crest at any given time. It is the combination of height and water flow that makes Niagara so beautiful.
If you are visiting from May to October, you will board the world-famous “Maid of the Mist” boat for an incredible 30-minute journey into the mist and spray inside the curve of the Falls.
”Maid of the Mist” is North America's oldest tourist attraction; millions of visitors have enjoyed the boat tours since 1846.
In the low season (winter), the cruise will be replaced by the “Journey Behind the Falls” experience. This takes you deep below and behind the heart of Niagara to stand in the mist where the mighty Horseshoe Falls tumble from 13 stories above! You’ll ride an elevator 175 feet into the Niagara Gorge. After you put on a protective rain poncho and sandals, you’ll traverse wooden walkways to the Hurricane Deck, less than 20 feet from the torrents of Bridal Veil Falls. From the safety of the Deck, you can appreciate the incredible force of the torrent and be doused with the spray from the rushing waters.
At lunch-time you will be treated to a buffet lunch at the Fallsview Restaurant, located on the Penthouse level of the Sheraton-on-the-Falls Hotel, on the Canadian side of the falls. Enjoy breathtaking views with your meal!
During the day your guide will also show you more of the Falls and the area around them and tell you about their history. After spending a total of around 5 hours at Niagara, you will start on the return journey. You will be driven to Buffalo to catch the flight to New York and will then be picked up and dropped back at the pick-up point.
Please call the activity operator upon arrival in the area to re-confirm your tour, departure time and pick-up location. Please present the Tour Voucher to the driver/guide prior to boarding the vehicle.
