The spectacular landscape with clusters of small white villages with flat earthen roofs terrados and terraced farmland that reaches over 6,561 feet (2,000 meters) make this an essential visit.
The enchanting mountain village of Pampaneira is like an Aladdin’s Cave with hotels, bars and a fantastic selection of gift shops offering some unique and high quality souvenirs. Sample some local wine, goat’s cheese and marzipan at the bodega or purchase some traditional Spanish food.
Your tour will depart from Nerja (08:10am) by air-conditioned motor coach. Accompanied by a guide, your excursion will travel up the coast, passing through some beautiful coastal views and up to the Alpujarras, the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
At 0930h (9:30am), you have a Coffee stop in Lanjaron for 40 minutes, with time to walk and explore the old part of the town.
This will be followed by a 45-minute drive along some spectacular scenery up to the village of Pampaneira, which is about 3000 feet above sea level.
Enjoy 45 minutes free time in Pampaneira. Explore the steep little streets, search through the gift shops, visit the cafes for a snack, and get more information from the excellent tourist information office.
Visit a local bodega or wine cellar, where you can taste the local wine, the almond cheese, and buy all sorts of locally produced goods such as liqueurs, marmalades, meringues, figs, etc. This will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Around 1300h (1:00pm), Start heading back to Nerja, arriving back at the original departure point at approximately 1430h (2.30pm).
